This study investigated the users' attitudes towards the use of electronic information&#13;
resources for research development in Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola Library, Nigeria.&#13;
The study was guided by five objectives with five corresponding research questions. The&#13;
researcher adopted a survey research design. The population of the study was 210, using&#13;
Krejcie and Morgan (1970) determination table of sample size, 136 was therefore sample and&#13;
selected for the study. 136 copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the respondents,&#13;
which were retrieved and found to be useful for the study. The instrument for data collection&#13;
was the questionnaire and the data generated was analyzed using a frequency table and&#13;
simple percentage. From the analysis, it was deduced that there are different types of&#13;
electronic information resources available in the Polytechnic Library studied, and students&#13;
used the resources for their academic work, though e-newspapers and e-magazines have low&#13;
extent of usage. Challenges are being faced by the students in using electronic information&#13;
resources. These include among others limited subscribed titles of electronic information&#13;
resources and inadequate internet connectivity. The respondents disagreed with the lack of&#13;
computer literacy, inadequate power supply and lack of relevant e-resources for various&#13;
disciplines as challenges in the use of electronic information resources in Adamawa State&#13;
Polytechnic. In light of these findings, the study recommends that lecturers should encourage&#13;
the use of e-newspapers and e-magazines by users by giving assignments or research work.&#13;
Also, more titles of the e-resources should be purchased to allow for wide patronage

This study explored undergraduates’ perception of accessibility and utilization of electronic universityin university libraries in Nasarawa State. The study was guided by two objectives and two research questions. A questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. Checklist was also used to ascertain the availability of the electronic information resources in the libraries understudied. The study adopted survey research design with a population of 4289 registered 300 Level student library users. The population consisted of 3819 undergraduate students of Federal University, Lafia, 146 Nasarawa State University, Keffi and 324 undergraduates of Bingham University.300Level student was used, been that they have stayed long in the school system and have already familiarize themselves with the electronic information resources available in the library. The descriptive statistics of percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviations was used to answer research question while chi square was used to test hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that there are several available electronic information resources such as e books, e journals, e newspapers, e magazines, e preprints, CD ROM, e projects, e lecture notes, e research reports, online databases, and internet services in the two universities libraries sample. The findings revealed that the available electronic information resources, though accessible, but were not sufficient for adequate use by the respondents. Considerably, majority of the respondents have a positive perception of electronic information resources and services. Based on the result of findings, that increase in accessibility and utilization of electronic information resources by undergraduate’s student in the three surveyed universities will lead to increase in learning, research and be beneficial to undergraduate, researchers, university community and librarians. Based on the result of findings, it is therefore concluded that undergraduate perception on accessibility and utilization of electronic information resources in the three surveyed universities is to a high extent and will increase if the challenges identified by the target area are looked into and also if the listed electronic information resources are made available to the library patrons, it was recommended that a well articulated and sustained effort is required to provide information and communication technology (ICT) facilities (Internet) in the university libraries to make information accessible to the students thereby continually meeting their information need and use

This study investigates the level of information literacy competency among students of College of&#13;
Nursing and Midwifery School Kafanchan, Kaduna State, Nigeria. The study focuses on three basic&#13;
skills namely: Identification, accession and evaluating skills. A survey research method was employed&#13;
for this study. The study was based on the data collected through questionnaire tagged information&#13;
literacy questionnaire (ILSQ). The reliability of the instrument was determined through Cronbach‟s&#13;
Alpha coefficient statistic and the obtained value was established at r=0.73. Frequency count and&#13;
percentage were used to analyze the data. The result obtained revealed that most students lacked&#13;
ability in the identification, accession and evaluation of information resources. The study recommends&#13;
that information literacy programme be incorporated and should be a two credit units course into the&#13;
school curriculum of the school.

Trust and authority are emerging as key elements of success on social media environment. In spite of&#13;
a burgeoning field of social media research, the topic on how institutions earn users’ trust and&#13;
establish their social media authority has received very little attention to date. This study describes&#13;
how academic librarians strategize in creating trust in social media contents and orient their actions&#13;
towards the goals of achieving social media authority as information experts. The study is guided by&#13;
the following research question: What are the trust-creating activities that academic librarians do on&#13;
library’s social media to establish social media authority? Data were collected through interviews&#13;
with 15 librarians from three Nigerian university libraries. Six themes on trust-creating&#13;
activities emerged from the findings. Three themes are related to trust-creating activities by&#13;
individual librarians: (a) post credible and useful social media contents; (b) provide relevant and&#13;
responsive feedback; and (c) have authorized identification or social media icons. Another two&#13;
themes are associated with trust-creating activities by librarians as a group: (a) collaborate in&#13;
assessing social contents; (b) be an authority in library and information services. One trust-creating&#13;
activity taken by the library management emerged i.e. involving the university authority for content.&#13;
The researchers offer suggestions for librarians to orient their actions towards the goals of achieving&#13;
social media authority and the distinctions are made in the trust- creating activities between&#13;
individual, group and organisation. This paper contributes to the under-researched field&#13;
investigating the actual implementation of social media authority in libraries. The study has shown&#13;
that social media authority is built on the platter of users’ trust. Based on this observation, we&#13;
believe that successful implementation of social media in the library is associated with not only how&#13;
proficient librarians are in social media use, but also how they build their social media contents&#13;
through trust-creating activities.
