<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/2905</link>
<description>CONSUMER BRAND ENGAGEMENT AND SALES PERFORMANCE OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE FIRMS IN PORT HARCOURT
BEMAA, Terkura T
This study investigated the relationship between consumer brand engagement and sales &#13;
performance of food and beverage firms in Port Harcourt. Specifically, the objectives of the &#13;
study were to determine the extent to which emotional engagement and cognitive engagement &#13;
relate with market share growth of food and beverage firms in Port Harcourt. The chosen &#13;
population for this study is twenty nine (29) registered food and beverage firms in Port &#13;
Harcourt. The census approach was adopted to select our respondents for the study and the &#13;
researcher purposively selected two hundred and ninety (290) respondents for the study, &#13;
however only two hundred and forty (240) respondents provided information for the analysis &#13;
of the data. Kendall’ tab-u was used to test four hypotheses. From results of the analysis it &#13;
was revealed that emotional engagement and cognitive engagement which are the dimensions &#13;
of consumer brand engagement positively and significantly relate with market share growth &#13;
(measures of sales performance) of food and beverage firms in Port Harcourt. Based on these &#13;
findings, it was concluded that consumer brand engagement fosters emotional connections &#13;
and loyalty. When consumers feel emotionally attached to a food and beverage brand, they &#13;
are more likely to become repeat customers and advocates. Therefore, the study &#13;
recommended that food and beverage firms in Port Harcourt should focus on personalizing &#13;
brand experiences. Tailoring products, marketing messages, and engagement efforts to &#13;
individual preferences can enhance emotional engagement and drive sales.

<title>HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT:AN IMPERATIVE FOR ACHIVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS(SDGS) IN NIGERIA</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/2886</link>
<description>HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT:AN IMPERATIVE FOR ACHIVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS(SDGS) IN NIGERIA
DANNAP, Edmond
A nagging concern on the mind of all developing countries, Nigeria inclusive, is that of&#13;
development. The countries so referred to as developing, are in a hurry to “catch up” with the&#13;
more developed western countries of Europe, the U.S.A, Japan .Russia, China, among others.&#13;
To ensure sustainable economic growth and development in an economy, investment in human&#13;
capital is therefore essential. This paper attempts to assess Nigeria’s effort at human capital&#13;
development for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).Other specific&#13;
objectives are to examine the role of the university in intellectual capital development; to&#13;
examine Nigeria’s skill acquisition programmes and unemployment reduction. Nigeria’s&#13;
development challenges were identified to include in-adequate financing, economic, socio¬&#13;
political, environmental, regional, science and technology, and corruption challenges were x-&#13;
rayed. The methodology adopted was that of the content analysis as sources of data were all&#13;
secondary from publications of the UN, the National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria’s report to&#13;
the Rio+2 summit, and a review of publications in reputable international journals. The paper&#13;
recommended massive sensitization and awareness campaigns by Government, and the&#13;
establishment of a Sustainable development Fund (SDF) among other initiatives.

<title>GLOBALIZATION AND THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY-THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR PERSPECTIVE</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/2885</link>
<description>GLOBALIZATION AND THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY-THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR PERSPECTIVE
DANNAP, Edmond
The phenomenon of globalization is a multi-dimensional and multi-faceted process that&#13;
encompasses political, economic, social and cultural dimensions which have been variously&#13;
explained in different terms and contexts. This paper attempts to examine the impact of&#13;
globalization on the Nigerian economy. The paper focuses on the financial sector with particular&#13;
reference to the Banking sub-sector. The two strands of globalization are x-rayed while the&#13;
powerful forces that propel globalization are identified. Although the empirical studies point to the&#13;
fact that Nigeria's level of integration with the global capital market is still low, it is evident from&#13;
this study that globalization has a profound impact on recapitalization of Banks in Nigeria, which&#13;
precipitated a robust Banking regulation/supervision, remodeling of the Banking system, a rapid&#13;
expansion of the telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT). The&#13;
paper concludes that the revolution in telecommunication and ICT has a profound impact on the&#13;
Nigerian Banking sub-sector. It is recommended that economic policy authorities put in place&#13;
appropriate macroeconomic policies that will deepen and hasten financial integration and&#13;
stimulate freer flow offunds into the economy.
